My second crop of Figs started producing ripe figs yesterday.

For the second night in a row, I slept for ten hours each night, WOW.

The Squad start's talking to me when I first get up in the morning, I say, I don't know what you said because I don't have my aids in, she looks at me with disgust, ISYN.
Fresh figs bring back good memories. We had a tree in our backyard as did my grandma. Grandma would spend all day in the kitchen making many quarts of fig preserves. It was one of my favorite treats, served over ice cream or a slice of pie. Even great on a slice of toast. YUM!

Fished for some bream for cut-bait today. Also checked the suppliers that sells blueback herring to make sure they have some. Hope to fish sometimes during this weekend. From the rain forecasts looks like I'll be fishing Sunday instead of Saturday. Went to grand daughter's karate class to watch her this evening. Then went with my son to a chinese buffet restaurant for supper. Was a good day........

Same here with the hearing aids, I tell my wife I am taking them out and she still talks up a storm and I can't understand a thing she is saying. lol I had to go back and use my old hearing aids, the VA just will not admit that these newer ones are defective. I even paid out of pocket for an outside the VA hearing doctor to check them out, they are worse now than before. It sounds like who ever is talking is inside a barrel about 100 feet away. Oh well such is life.

Mac, my sister loved figs, but for some reason I don't like them at all. She took some strawberry jello mix and mixed with some ripe figs and made jam, I am not kidding, that tasted like the best strawberry jam I ever ate.

Wife and I got another 20 deck boards replaced on the dock yesterday, just 20 more to go. I don't mind placing and screwing down the new ones but don't like getting the old ones up. Wife is good, no excellent help if I can keep her busy but if there is more than a five-minute span where she isn't busy, she will wander off and start pulling weeds or something.
Hearing loss is a peculiar ailment, wife knows I can't hear well without the aids but will say something to me while walking away in her normal voice and get aggravated when I say, "I can't hear you". A man who is losing his sight has the sympathy of most everyone, a man losing his hearing has most everyone aggravated at him.
Figs, "Heck Yea", I am on a pretty restrictive diet but actually allow myself a Fig Newton about three days a week for breakfast.
Had my 6 mo. visit with the Dr. yesterday. The diet seems to be working, down another three Lbs. for a total of 43 lb. lost since March. My BP meds have been reduced by 1/2 and Triglycerides (SP incorrect?) meds have been eliminated.
Well better get back over to the pond and start taking up old deck boards. By myself, the wife had a B-day party for her brothers 2 YO granddaughter to go to.

Thanks Mac, I really appreciate the help.
I know it is aggravating for others to have to repeat just about everything said, but it is just as aggravating to us that they have to. If I can't see the person's lips, I don't have a clue what they are saying.

I love figs, all the trees near me have died, haven't looked for others. The Aldi brand fig newtons are better than name brand ones to me. Need to look for pear trees to get a few for preserves.
Got a call from a gastro office yesterday. Couldn't understand the foreign english the girl was speaking. Asked for an email or text.
I'll be asleep when Debbie comes to bed. She talks and I hear very little of it. I have to ask later what she was talking about.
Watched Cody's auction Thursday night. Lots of near and out of day food. $10 for a flat of 12 cans of veggies. 30 gallon galvanized trash cans and 20 gallon lids. Didn't buy anything.
Did great at Kroger yesterday, lots of items on clearance. Got 1,034 points for August so far. Goya brand beans 55 cents, LA hot sauce 59 cents. Smart Buy 24 oz bottle of honey $3, bought a case of 12. Local beekeepers want $8 for the small bear bottle.
Head to Sam's, SuperLo and Piggly Wiggly soon for items other store don't carry.
Got some of the pure lead and wheel weight ingots sold. Waiting on money to get here. No replies on the 9mm brass.
In a cool spell, temps are 10 degrees cooler than the other day, 90 for today's high. No rain in weeks that have any measurement. The lawns are turning brown. No rain on the 10 day forecast.

Yep on temp change. Didnt even break a bad sweat today pulling trees. Got a new clamp. One cut off killed tractor when ma was running it. Finally got it pulled. 5 foot root. But then tractor only a little 2n ford.

If I sleep 10 hours the bed would be soaked. Stinky also.

Goldeye really moving. Need to get some.

Was not a good painter today. Gonna need another coat. Also thought got the underside of rails. When got sat down saw missed most of it. So far only took me 6 months to do that. Other rail gotta paint has been 2 years. Kinda need them now on steps for some odd reason.

Keef, St. Louis Mo. was on the NEWS big time this AM, seems like they have a crime problem, and some are asking GOVCO to do something about it. Crime in St. Louis - Wikipedia

Mac nothing has changed, when I went in the Army a dozen or so of us were walking down gas light square, had a old black man get us some booze, on the way back a cop came to a sudden stop and said, are you out of your mind this is the most dangerous block in the whole city, GET THE H out of here!!!! LOL. WE were all under age at that time.

I guess they were national guard at every foreign country airport, bus and train terminal I've been to.
Being bald at an early age I didn't have any problem buying alcohol at 16. The state changed to 18 years of age for beer, got carded when I was 19.
Got 2 more orders for pure lead and 1 for wheel weight ingots. Hope I have enough pure lead without shopping for more.
Waiting on cooler weather, need to cast some 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 oz spit shoot sinkers. Might as well have all 3 molds going at the same time.
Kroger had Quaker chewy granola bars reg price $2.79 on clearance for $1.36. I got 10 packs of the strawberry yogurt. I had 3 bars with my coffee this morning. The shopping cart was full, only saw 3 flavors. Would have bought blueberry yogurt if I'd seen it.
The house got super cool last night, thermostat set at 60 and it shut off in the early morning. I had to add a quilt to my blanket. Today's high will be 90 about 3 pm.
Headed outdoors to see what I can do.
Jason has to be at the hospital in the mornings. They sent a pump and flush kit home with him for the evening. They think he will be finished by 9/26. He can't work while taking the drugs.
