Back home at 5:30 yesterday. Debbie slept well last night, only called out for help once, lost her electric chair remote. It was time for a bathroom run. I heard thunder yesterday so slid down in bed for a nap. All buckets filled again. Chance of afternoon pop up showers this week.
I went on the MS with Coach, Joe Ware and Matt Bingham before heading myself. Learn areas to avoid, go around instead of across. Never go alone.
Kayla will get a car from her friend that moved to Ohio years ago today. Her aunt is moving there too and doesn't think the car will make the trip. Or doesn't want to mess with it. If and when she finds a job she'll have her own and we'll have our car for when needed. I tried last year getting Debbie in the truck before my tumor removal, that was work. Don't think I could do it now. Getting her in the car is work enough. If it's backed into the driveway it a lot easier.
8:30, got lots to do, better get started.

I will say one more thing about fishing the Mississippi and then let it be. The stretch where I had fished had severe whirlpools that could pull a boat down, it had pulled full grown trees down in that same area so why would I think it couldn't pull my little boat down. I am sure there are areas of the Mississippi that aren't that bad. At the Memphis area, I hadn't seen any whirlpools, but I fished upstream toward Shelby Forest where there were several huge ones. I didn't know about them before I fished there or I would not have fished that area.

Afraid I am not, like Arky said about his service. I stood within 20 or so feet of fighter planes hitting the deck loaded, then run out there and unhook the cables so they could taxi forward, when I was 17. I have had planes explode within 30 or so feet when their struts collapsed landing on the deck during rough seas, and the fuel tank ruptured and explode and the planes going over the side in a fireball. Running under the engine of a twin engine bomber, still under flying power to get to the fuselage so I could go back to the hook to keep from being blown over the side to unhook the cable. Afraid, nope, cautious, yep.

Those 49 barge tugs going upstream really push a wake. But the prop wash about 7 or 9 behind the tugboat will Swamp you. On a bend go to the inside of the tug if possible.
The River changes constantly and sandbars are always moving.

5 toots from the tugboat and you better move!

Jim we were 10ft tall and bullet proof at 18. Today 5'10 with a few holes and scars.
Hope my last words are "Hey ya'll watch this! " my last thought "oh SH!T!" and when I slide through the Pearly Gates I can ask Saint Peter "Did you see that?". "LORD Please not let me leave this world asleep but in a blaze of glory!"

Arky, I agree, I guess that is the reason the military wants young boys.

Buddy there is no way under the sun I would get close to those tugs pushing all those barges up river. I can only imagine the power of the wake they are causing.

Pretty warm but overcast so not too bad, the humidity is pretty high though so if you sweat it don't evaporate much.
Took the dull blades off my Scag zero turn and put sharpened ones back on, the Scag is much easier to change blades on than either of our Gravelys. Will wait till a cooler day to resharpen the blades I took off.
Was mowing after changing the blades and noticed my youngest G-son (7) at the pond, rode over to see what he was doing and seen he was fishing in his PJ's, that one is ate up with fishing, my other one wouldn't go fishing if he knew he would catch a new state record.
Saw MD. is considering legislation to greatly reduce the number of Blue Catfish in the Chesapeake Bay with one option being funding for making pet feed out of them. Funny how we in the lower Ohio River want regulation to protect the Blues and they want regulation to eradicate them. One mans trash another man's trophy, I guess.

I always think of Channel cats as pond possums, I won't eat wild caught one, But I will tear a blue and flathead up.

Mac I went back to the VA today about my hearing aids. All I can say is that went over like a fart in church. All he did was put the same exact molded part that goes in your ear on my newest one and took the ones off my new ones and put them on my old ones. He said that they were the exact same molded ones. I said why change them then. He changed them anyway, and so help me Hannah, he got the two left ones on the old aids and the two right ones on the newer hearing aids. I finally said, I am done here, this needs to be over. I think I will just pay a regular Dr to either fix these or just buy new ones.
