When fishing the Ohio near Evansville for the first time, I noticed that the south side of the dam has somewhat of an offset and caused a deep hole to develop. You could see the signs of asian carp in abundance there. I was fishing for skip the first time I was there using a small white curly tail jig. I made a long cast and retrieved the jig with a sharp junking action. About half way back, something grabbed it and really took off. After about 4 or 5 runs I got it close to the boat and the surface. It was a tail hooked asian carp. I babied it in and got a net under it. That was a good back bouncing bait. I bleed it by cutting the tail off. Then filleted it and chunked it and left it in a tub, soaking in the blood.

After that I always brought a good rod setup with a large crank bait with large tremble hooks. I always had a good asian carp after that.

Nice sunrise today, our weather this year has been extreme, hotter than normal then cooler than normal, dryer than normal then wetter.
Lordy, my wife is having a second childhood crisis, we not only got egg chickens we now have meat chickens. Told her I would build her a chicken tractor for them, but I was having nothing to do with butchering them. She said her mom would come help cut them up and the G-kids could do a lot of the plucking. Great now my G-kids can hate the smell of hot, wet chicken feathers for the next 60+ years like I do.
Glad to see you posting pictures Denny. It's not uncommon to snag one of the Asian Carp while Skip Jack fishing below Ky./Barkley Dams. Makes for an exciting fight but takes a lot of time and it's hard to keep them out of the way of other anglers with light Skip tackle.

LOL, your g-kids are not going to like that task. Today, if I am eating a chicken breast and there is a slight whiff that reminds me of the wet chicken feathers from years back, it locks my jaws, I can't take another bite. lol
