Another hot start what is going to be a hot day. Weather speculators indicate our rambling buddy down in Mathews, Mo. is getting a little rain, and it should be here in the next three hours or so. We could really go a few days without rain but it and the high temps is making my corn and beans look very good.
Oldest G-Son is still in the single elimination little league baseball tournament after winning last night, I washed and hung his uniform on the line to dry this morning. His team is not predicted to win the championship, but they weren't predicted to be in the final three either but here we are.
Sprayed our rocked driveway this morning, hadn't checked the forecast hope it has enough time before the rain gets here, if it does get here.
Derby, if the compressor is running and it is cooling some, I suspect you may get by with a good cleaning and possibly addition of freon. Of course, if it needs freon it would be best to locate the place the old escaped and fix it but that could wait till cooler weather. Good luck with it.
Rain moved on it's dieing out you may be good

It was quite warm today but not brutal.
I cut some limbs out of a big Elm I plan on felling; I sure can't handle a chainsaw like I could 20 years ago and not nearly as comfortable standing in a tractor bucket while I am sawing as I was back then either.
Made a half trip around one of the ponds about sunset throwing a 5" plastic worm, the bass were quite willing to bite, caught somewhere around a dozen, thought I may go back just after dark and throw out a couple channel cat lines but just got too comfortable after my shower and supper to go back, maybe tomorrow evening but likely not.
I guess I have never seen a true "flash flood", living on the edge of a river bottoms I have seen rapid raises but never so fast I couldn't out walk the rise to higher ground. The folks in TX and now NM are sure having a time with it, nothing I can do for them but wish there was.

I'm getting really fed up with all of the folks everywhere politicising the event and attempting to place blame (FEMA, NWS, Democrats, Republicans, Trump, Abbott, etc.). Sure there are a lot of places that improvements could have helped save lives, including folks doing some homework and being aware of the potential hazards in an area popularly called "Flash Flood Alley". Just my TCW.

Now that they know WHERE the flood plain is, will they rebuild??
