Vietnam Fish sauce..

I used a little Vietnamese Fish Sauce in my chicken liver today...the ingredients are Anchovy Extract, Salt and Sugar
I found a little bottle of it, in the oriental section of the grocery store...
the little channel cats loved my new fishy chicken livers:confused2: gosh, the smell is so strong! the sauce tastes good!
love the dishes that use this stuff!
"Nuoc Mam patis" I think that is the name?

When I was beginning to learn to cook as a profession I interned at a hotel that the whole kitchen staff was from Vietnam so we had vietnamese food for lunch every day so I am very familiar with fish sauce. I still have contact with some of them and they give me a bottle of homemade once a year. If you think store bought is meloderous, try the real thing WOW:dribble:
