TC84Z are the same hook as the D85Z the 8/0 in TC are 7/0 in the Daiichi All the hooks that Team Catfish sells are made by Daiichi
I know that daiichi makes the TC hooks, but the D85z is not the same hook as the TC 8/0 double action. I have fished with the D85z for several years now for certain situations. Its a good hook for live bait. It's called "circle wide". Not shaped at all like the TC hooks. It has a bigger gap, and is shorter from the point to the bottom or bend of the hook than the TC Double action.
I kinda want to think that the chunk lite may be the same as the TC. Not sure though.

I use them on my dead sticks and when anchor fishing quite often. Other than being offset I can't tell that they are different than the double action or chunk light. Kirbed just means they are offset to the right. If it said reversed they would be offset to the left.

just tried the team catfish double actions in 4,5,and 8. So far they are at 100% every cat that shook the bell made it to the bank. All fish were in the 5-15# range nothing huge but were all fun to catch!
I've never tried the team catfish hooks. Been meaning to, but I just have a hard time switching from my reliable gamakatsu's.

I may try their super circle hooks. Hopefully they are stronger than the other TC hooks I have tried. To be fair I run heavier tackle than a lot of people do and tend to all but eliminate fight time. My previous trial of TC hooks have reeled back an eye or partial shank. I have had that issue with a couple other brands of hooks that I no longer purchase. I have had Gamakatsu hooks bend but never break. I recently purchased some hooks from Bottom Dweller Tackle that have proven to be pretty outstanding so far. I will post back on this thread as soon as I try out the TC Super Circles. I will be trying the 10/0 and 12/0 sizes.

The TC Super Circles are great shark hooks, they also make excellent big bait flathead hooks. I use the 12/0 hooks BTW.

TC gets their hooks from Daichi. I like both the chunk light hooks and the super circles, but all for different applications.

The chunk lights are more of an all purpose hook that works well when using blue gills for flathead catfish. I also found the hooks to be great for catching big sting rays in saltwater.

Even though I use the TC and Daichi circle hooks I still use the Gamakatsu circle hooks as well. In my opinion, the 4/0 Gamakatsu octo circles are one of the best channel catfish hook available.
