Hello all, I just moved to Clarksville and I'm trying to figure out some spots to fish from the bank. After searching the net up and down I found this site which seems to be very informative. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey brother, welcome to the site. This site is full of great information. There are some good spots to fish from the bank. You can look up Lock C on the Cumberland. There have been some great fish caught from there in the past. You can also go to Cumberland City. You can catch great bait there also. During the winter months the skipjack will run in there and you can catch a limit in no time. I do a lot of fishing on the Cumberland and I will be offering to take someone out when I get back from vacation. Any more questions just ask, if I can't answer it, someone on here will.

Thanks Brotherknothead, I appreciate the info. I had been reading mixed reviews about the Steam Plant in Cumberland City. After your comment I think it's at least worth giving it a shot. What type of gear do you recommend. I am currently using gear that I know can handle 20-30's, but I want something stronger. I hope you're enjoying your vacation, if you find yourself in the need of someone to go out with you, I would be glad to tag along and gain some knowledge.

Thanks Griz. From what I'm reading both of those places look promising for more than just catfish. I think I might be able to get my little girl out there with me. It always works as a good excuse when she ask me to take her fishing. Momma can never complain about time spent on the water, gotta love that bonding time.

LBL Cross Creek, Paris Landing area, New Johnsonville, Cumberland City Steam Plant... I have caught fish at all these places, when I lived in Clarksville / Ft Campbell. New Johnsonville is a pretty good jog from Clarksville, but make a weekend of it, and go camping. use to be a lot of good shore fishing.

Paris Landing is pretty good, but need a boat to hit a bunch of good spots.

Lots of good little fishing holes around LBL... You have to hit Cumberland City at the right times.. Suggest you go check it out. Talk to locals there..

There used to be a Bait Store on HWY 70 around the Bumpus Mills area, about 4-5 miles before you hit the Dover Bridge... Not sure if it is still there, but they always had to daily / weekly fishing report..

It been a few years since I have fished these area (17 to be exact), but always had fun and caught fish.
