Actually, limburger tastes pretty good on crackers.

Yep, It's not uncommon to catch a channel while fishing for trout with cheeses like Velveeta. It seems cats will eat just about any thing you offer given the right circumstance

Mark and Nick a couple of old fishing buddys who don't get out much anymore used to make their own. Its a dip bait.
Its just cheese and eggs.
Generally its cheese scraps from a near by cheese factors and a couple of dozen eggs in a 5 gallon bucket.
I guarantee they will take the recipe to the grave though:).

Lots of guys use cheese in fish traps. Of course thats just something I heard since fish traps are illegal here in Iowa.
lots of luck

Can't remember where I read it, but a few years back I read about some guys running a test on what type cheese catfish like best. They used stinky cheese and Velveeta type cheese, but what worked best for that particular test was plain old cheddar cheese cut in small chunks with nothing added to it.

Left over process cheese from the cheese factories (with many types mixed together) mixed with a thickener was the all time best channel bait I ever used. My uncle would split a barrel with a bunch of other guys. I haen't had any since he passed away.

limburger cheese is the foulest smellin cheese it works great by itself or in dough bait.
I agree it stinks (an understatement) but is a great bait. I have two big pieces sitting in the freezer (triple sacked) waiting to be used. What astounded me was watching a program on cheese made in Wisconsin and seeing people in a bar actually eating grilled Limburger cheese sandwiches. I can eat most anything but I'm not that tough!!
