I've got an old #33 zebco that I put 20 lb. Power pro line on. I hate it on this reel. Will go back to mono Trilene 10 lb. Any one else have bad luck using P P on the spin cast reels ??

Spincast reels and braided line do not agree with each other.I think its the pins that come out to hold the line that are the problem. The only company that claims that their reels are made for braid is Abu.They sell a few that come with braid.

I put PP braid on a Zebco HOG for a while but went back to mono cuz I don't like the raspy feeling I got when reeling it in. I picked up the Abu Spincaster that comes with Firewire and ended sending the first one in for service because it had all sorts of weird issues and they sent me a new one that was redesigned a little to fix some of the issues I had with the first one. The second one is working ok but I got rid of that crap firewire and put Suffix braid on it. Casts and reels better than firewire IMHO.

yeah some of the abu abumatics are braid-ready so to speak... maybe even the zebco omega is like this.

but i'd never put braid on a spincast reel unless it was one of the abu's. and i wouldnt even put it on that because i don't use it.

the 33's work best with 8lb or 10lb mono. a limp one like sufix elite or trilene xl.
