Your Opinion is needed !!

On the States that I list, I would like you to make a list and post it back here on the BOC in this thread, your number one pick to your number 19th pick, I am going to list 19 States, you go down thru them and pick the best fishing states. Like number # 1 that would be the best state in the 19 listed that you think is the best to go fishing for Catfish. and just go down thru the list 1-19, with 19 being the last state you would think would be the best to go catch catfish.

Arkansas
Tennessee
South Carolina
Kansas
Ohio
Missouri
Kentucky
Minnesota
Alabama
North Carolina
Indiana
Oklahoma
Illinois
Georgia

Oklahoma The fish are here, just aren't in the record books. Oh, and I count TEXOMA as an Oklahoma lake, not a Texas lake.

George Maryland is not on our list . This list was compiled through the fish off entries. there is 19 states that will be fishing the fish off, and I wanted to see what peoples opinions were on the top states to the last states. This does not have to be the biggest fish on record or the most fish on record, its what you consider the best fishing for catfish, now how you go about doing that is up to you. If you have fished them waters then it might be easy for you to pick if not then you might have to go by state information posted on records or by members posting here on the BOC. Even if I did have Maryland on the list I would still list it low cause it only has one location that is good waters.

You need to remember when your picking these, if your picking Virgina because of the James river, remember Virginia has a lot more locations then just the James, so is that a fair shot at saying Virginia is the best cause of the James one river, Lets just for the heck of it look at the State of Tennessee: A Lot of people have put it in the middle to lower end.

Tennessee: Fishing
Cumberland River - Middle of the state
Tennessee River Eastern / Middle/ Western
Kentucky Lake - Western
Barkley Lake - Western
Chickamauga Lake -Eastern
Watts Bar Lake - Eastern
Fort Loudoun Lake - Eastern
Douglas Lake - Eastern
Old Hickory Lake - Central
Pickwick Lake - Western
Mississippi River - Western

Don't forget there was just a 108 and 103 Pound blue caught in two days this past fall in Tennessee, Rate these locations that I have posted.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Now lets look at Virginia

Virginia: Fishing

James River - Eastern
Potomac River - Eastern
John Kerr Reservoir - South Central

Wow, we are going to rate Virginia on one river system maybe two here, when the largest Blue catfish they ever caught was 95.4 pounds, I am not taking any thing away from them but darn big guys, why on earth are we giving them so much credit here.. They have three body's of water that's known for Blue cat fish, they are not even native to that waters. I fished there and had a blast and caught a lot of good fish but looking over the entire system here I would have to rank Tennessee over Virginia right now.

Number # 1 . Tennessee you can get to any body of water to fish within a fair amount of time no matter where you live in that state.

Tennessee has seem to produce a lot of huge fish in the past few years.

Number # 2 .Virgina most of the people have to drive clear across state to get to Blue catfish waters. or catfish waters. I just think James river has been getting a lot of reviews here in the past six months and has been rated high and no one is thinking about all the other catfish being caught in other locations.

I love the James its great water and will be back there again, but that's only one location for the entire state, I am trying to get your opinion on the best waters per state, not best river in the united states.. LMAO

Were they caught from a lake in Tennessee? or were they just recorded in Tenn, from a trip on the river? Meaning if they were just recorded from the state across the river it would be from there instead? Or were they caught from a Tennessee land locked river area? LOL, just asking. Like the big Blue that was recorded for Illinois, in Alton, it came from the confluence so it could have went to either state just so happen the fella lived in Illinois?

Those two fish were caught out of Mephis Tennessee at the BP classic last fall in November. They were caught on the Mississippi River.
