Your favorite line weight for panfish....

    I was wondering what fly line weight/rod most of you use for panfish?

    i use a 5 wt. but for more action i would go to a 3 or 4 wt.

    Get you a 2wgt 6.5 feet and have a lot of fun. Really good bluegil Fights

    I use a 8 1/2 ft. 5/6 wt. rod with WF-5-F line.

    i use a St.Croix premier 5wt............. its great.... specially when u get a NICE BIG gill on the other end...

    dont think its a good idea, if your looking for some fun hits to go over a 3

    I use the same 5/6 weight 7 1/2 ft Cortland that my Grandfather bought for me when I was 15(38 now). It's still a blast. Also have a newer 9 1/2 ft 7 weight Sage.

    Depends on how big of a fly you're throwing. I like a 6wt for bass bugs (also effective on pans) and streamers.
