I know it is a much debated discussion, but I just would like to know what everyone's favorite hook is.

Mine is the Gamakatsu Octopus (non-circle) in 8/0 black nickel. Kind of expensive, but very strong and an extra sharp point. I have been experiementing with the Gamakatsu Big River Bait hooks in 10/0 and really like them too.

I've used J hooks all my life and really like them. Recently started using circles and large kahles. I think I prefer a large Kahle hook for flatheads. :smile2:

I use the King Kahles in 10/0. Best hook I have ever used for big cats. Vern

I also prefer a 4/0 circle "eagle claw" but a khale hook or an octopus hook is a good alternative for me.

Definately King Kahles. I use 8/0 and 10/0. The best hook on the market in my opinion. rspd507

I like to use different hooks for different applications and presentations. For normal size cut baits and small live baitfish, I like the 7/0 Daiichi Circle chunk lights and 8/0 Gamakatsu octopus circles. for large cut baits and bigger live baitfish, I'll go with the Eagle Claw king kahle in 9/0 or 10/0 size.

I'm partial to Gamakatsu 8/0 Octopus Circles. They're just about all I ever use now.
