2009 was a good year for me to reflect on. For blues is was good. Got a few 20 pound class blues. Got a 71 pounder. Lost a few. Also got a few dd size blues. Channels was topped off by a 22 pounder and a few dd size ones. Flatheads eventhough I did not get at em much was a few dd size ones even had a 55 pounder break me off only to hit on my partners hook 4 hrs later with my hook still in its mouth. LOL. Panfishing was swell for gills. Found new areas in the Imperial Valley to fish. Found new areas in Palo Verde to fish. The events was a success with a good turn out. Plus a few gains was made in turining people to the sport and also getting kids involved through seminars and helping inner city kids get out and fish with a few trips in the 09.

For 2010 I look for more of the same hopefully I can get pbs in a blue and also a flathead as well. Will hit the flatheads more often this season and will also venture into getting more crappie. Suppose to do some bass fishing with someone and get that on video as well and will go after some white sea bass this new year as well as its been a few years since I went on a wsb trip.

How was yall year and whats your prospectus for the new year? Will be good to hear all of the 09 reflections and outlook for the one o.

I have a little live feed reflection I put together on you tube which is only part one. I have 2 more parts to finish. You Tube is kind funny in which you really may have to trim down your feeds for file size. This one took 5 trimmings to get it right. LOL. I will get the rest up later in this thread as I get the time to work on it. Its time consuming. LOL.

Hi Brian, unfortunately I cannot get access to you tube.
2009 was a intresting year for personal growth. I did some traveling did some fishing. I caught my first Mendota Sleugh Catfish! I am sorry to say, I did not get to do much Saltwater fishing.
For 2010 I hope to do more satwater fishing and catch my first ever Yellowtail! I plan on doing more traveling Arkansas for the Degray Gathering and the much anticipated National Gathering in Kentucky.

Sounds like you are looking forward to a great 2010 of fishing. Yellowtail are awesome just be prepared for a great fight and a sore back if you get on a lot of them. I been on trips in the past that I took breaks from catching them they can be a beast. :smile2:

    Yea, Brian,
    Good idea on the reflection..

I'd set goals of sorts for myself at the beginning of 09. and achieved some of them..

I managed to get a new Personal Best Flatcat..One of the goals!!

Another was to fish more, which I didn't do. but, I fished Smarter,, I think!!

I learned I don't care to fish tournaments!! Tried one , and didn't enjoy it..

Learned to tie some new knots!!!
My patience level is greatly improving!!
And, I still have a LOT to learn!!
    Looking forward to 2010, !!!

    Thanks for the post.

Some more goals for 2010 for me is to also learn new knots. I also will become a lot more knowledgable on my boat and will learn how to do the basic maintainance. I already learned how to grease my own bearings last weekend as katfish J schooled me on that easy topic. I want to learn the basic motor maintainace as well.

I feel ya on the tournaments. I try to do things different with mines such as being affordable and for everyone to get something in a raffle if possible. Its competitive but not overly competitive as the main goal is to have fun and to bring people together. Trying to keep it from being cut throat. Seminars is also conducted at them as well. The overall # one catfish derby west of the Mississippi is clear lake and that is the foremost feature for catfishing derbies in the west. As far as something like that happening in the southwestern region its going to take some time and a lot of people getting involved.

Congrads on your pb flathead. I am going to work on my pb for flatheads in 2010 for sure. I also want to venture out and learn new areas and not just rely on Blythe and Palo Verde. I made strides in that in learning the Alamo a little. Will continue to learn the imperial valley area. Yuma is a goal as well as the pichaco area. Even the Parker strip area. Nice flatheads are in that region too.

Christmas was fine a lot of good eating with some collard greens, dressing, ham, steak and the usual grubbing at folks homes. New Years is gumbo time at cousins so I am looking forward to the Gumbo and may hit up San Bernardino at San Manuel. I was going to go to Vegas but will save that for another time and stay local.

Yea should be fun. Traditionally use to do vegas for New years like 5 years in a roll than last 3 years been spending time at casinos locally like San Manuel or Pechanga. Lots of good stuff happening locally though even here in Inglewood at local club like Savoy. WIsh you a safe New year bringing as well and eat up good thats always the way to bring it in with some good bbq and traditional New years Gumbo like my mom makes as well when shes in town.
