It was a fine day here in MS, temp 78, so we went crappie fishing. Surface temp out in the lake was 58 and we fished in 10 t0 14 feet and caught some fish, move into a shallow cove with a clay bottom, 52 surface degrees, as my partner wanted to rattle-trap for bass. he put a couple of jigs in his pole holder and was just dragging along the bottom in 6 to 3 feet of water and I was casting my crappie jig and dragging too and we caught crappie in that kind of water to, along with 2 bass. Thay don't know what they want to do, I sure never would have tried that pattern. Now I'm confused too. Had 15 crappie and 2 bass, happy with those 4 hrs of fishing.

Sounds like you had a pretty good day, I use some jigs as well, when they quit bitting I go to minnows, believe natural is better for spring.

    Hey Steve,
I can't think of a better way to spend 4 hours on the water.

Some guys will go out at this time of the year, and not do that in a day.
    "Way To Go"!
