i am working a well close to washita river,i had set a goal to catch a 30lb flat while i was hear working this well.had been fishing 3 or 4 hrs about every other day without alot luck 18lb flat being the biggest i had caught in 60 days, where i am at we have a big lake,we had gotton a big rain and they were letting water out of it,it runs and dumps into the river i am fishing about 15 miles down stream,i call them and ask when they were going to close the gate as i had'nt had any sleep because of work i was wanting to lay down and take a nap before i went, but they said they had already close the gate, almost did'nt go but i thought it would take a while for the water to stop running at the mouth since it was 15 miles dn stream,so went caught some bait(gills) and off i went got permission and walk a 1/2 mile with bait and tackle, ended up catching a 31 and a 35 if scales are right 35lb was 40" long and girth 28",had one on that was alot bigger then the 30's i got had him for about 30 mins, got him close to me and thought he was done and he made a hard run and plulled lose,i don'nt have alot of experiance fight big fish lol,i was there 4 1/2 hrs before waater quit running and ran out bait at same time, the one photo is where i was fishing, the red dot is where i caught them there was a sandbar slpitting the feeder creek and river i was fish off the side of the bar on river side never got a bite fishing in feeder creek

Catchin bigguns out of smaller bodies of water is a real treat. My biggest bass was caught here in WV from the spillway area of Obrein Lake and its only 30 feet across at its widest point and drastically funnels down to around 20 within a quarter mile. The bass weighed 9 lbs 13 oz and was 24 1/4 long. ON A NIGHT CRAWLER...lol. It was just a hair under the state record for length. Also a buddy caught a 44 inch muskie from the same stretch on a minnow, so that just goes to show ya a giant could be lurking about anywhere.
