    looks like a channel at first glance but the anal fin aint quite right. must be a saltwater or asian species

    I believe it is a Gafftopsail Catfish or a Sea Catfish. if I have to go with one I would say Sea Catfish.
    But then again I've been wrong before...W

    Saltwater cat was my guess too. Not by looking at the fish so much, but by the sand it was laying on. Looks like a beach to me!

    Definately a hardhead....I've caught 2 at once before on a double rig fishing for specks about 8 miles offshore. Each one was 2.5 pounds, what a fight that was on a bass rig!!!:smile2: At first I was sure I had a big trout, then I felt the rolling..

    Also a few minutes later, my cousin did the same thing, and we were casting artificials the whole time!!
