YADKIN RIVER FISHING

    ANY BODY FISHED THE YADKIN LATELY FOR CATFISH. IM GOING NEXT WEEK WONDERING IF ANYBODY DOING ANYGOOD AND HOW THE BAIT,EASY OR HARD TO FIND.

    You can find some shad in behind the islands below the steam plant at York Hill. they seem to be easier to find early in the mornings, 1-2 hours after sunrise,you will see them breaking the surface. Don't know about anywhere else up river from there. We fished around the steam plant some friday w/ cut shad but didn't have any luck. It might have been better if the plant was running. We have been catching some good crappie out of there also. You may also try the little canal beside the ramp for some bait.
