Get a flat back canoe with a trolling motor on it ive seen a few people bow fish from them all though you not gonna be able to have a platform on it. as fas as fishin i used to have one and i caugt more fish out of that canoe than any other boat ive ever been in. but if you look around you might find a good deal on craigslist. i got my first real boat 2 years ago that wasa 14 foot semi v with a trailer and a 4 horse for $450 and everything worked. so look around and you might just find that deal but a nice wide canoe can always work

I would if I were you save up a little more money and get something better, but if you must get a boat look for a full weld and not riveted, check for cracks on the transom and bow, and look at the welds real good, if the wood on the transom needs to be replaced don't go cheap get some good marine grade wood for it. also look at the depth of the boat, there are car-toppers that are shallow free board. also make sure it has a capacity plate is on it, You will fine for a few dollars more the quality of the boats your looking for will be much better and offers up some more goodies, good luck
