That's a great story. I've never felt compelled to jump in after a pole, but I've only ever lost cheap outfits. Now, I may have to think about it since I've got some new stuff.
What kind of braid are you using?

shawn i stopped fishing the bay by the park office its really getting to much pressure there is a guy from port washington named matt george who has been jugging the bay all year so far.i seen his pics at the bait shop no monsters but alot of 15-20lb fish that might have been monsters before im 6ft under. one pic there is about 15 fish 10-15lb and one bout 40.he has several pics up there.hes pretty proud. before anyone jumps on me about jugging im gonna say this you want to jug thats fine but please take a pic of the fish as soon as you take him off the jug and set him free dont throw him in the boat till your done haul him to the shop get a mug shot

I agree and congrats on finding a good braid. I might have to try and get me some, i've been fairly disappointed with the stuff i got so far.

i agree 100 percent. all the big fish we have caught this month have been released minutes after landing them. one good picture is all i need, and i feel a heck of alot better knowing they swam off healthy.:smile2:
