WOW. will wonders never cease. A Texan with a lot of common sense too. I'm like you though, I'd mount the head if I just had to have something to throw money away on. Probably get a gar mounted too... after all, it is just money. LOL

I would mount one. It would have to be a boar with big tusk. And the money would have to be there. I have not had to worry about geting anything mounted I've never killed or caught anything big enough.

I mounted the first one I killed with a bow. It was a 350# Boar that was attacking me at the time. I got a real good deal on the mount since the three guys I went hunting with killed boars too and we took all of them to my taxidermist who was already working on a big buck I got a month earlier. I might do a European style mount if I ever decided that I needed to kill a hog. Euro mounts are cheaper and you can do them your self if you have the time!

I'm with you Aaron, I do all my deer that way. I've never shot a Hog, but if I do, thats the way I'd go.
I do Euro Mounts all the time for my friends. It's not that much work. If Anyone wants any tips, Let me know. I've learned some tricks over the years.

I've got several of them mounted. It's not what you killed but the special memory of the hunt, that should drive you to getting something mounted.

That's right. If they are done right, they look great mounted on a nice Oak or Walnut plaque. Believe me, they are not that tough to do. The first one I did turned out pretty good. The more I do, the better they come out.

i MIGHT do the european if it was monster, but that would be after i left that nasty thing to rot in the pasture. Hogs are a major problem where i am from and we shoot as many as we can and unless they are small (under 50lbs) we leave them for the coyotes.

Now before ya'll judge me negatively realize that they destroy thousands of dollars of my family's grain crops every year.
