A buddy of mine caught a new world record wiper at milford. I dont have a lot of details since I just got back from guards. From what I hear the weight and species has been certified. There was suppose to be a press conference today. He said it beat the current record by 2 pounds. That would put it at 25 pounds and change. Should know more in a couple days. Only pic I have is one he sent to my phone.

Thats awesome Jay. After the catfishes , wipers are my favorite to catch. Im really looking forward to hearing the story and seeing the pics. Im glad it came from a Kansas reservoir. My brother in law caught a 9 lb. at Milford at the Gathering, it was a hog.

Thanks for the report Jay.That is a BIg wiper.

I think the old state record was caught at the Pomona spillway yrs ago,and then i heard that a new state record was caught at Perry spillway this yr.

But your buddies wiper will be a new state record for sure.

I have caught them over 10lb at milford but would love to catch one in the 20's some day.

My biggest is a 15+, caught in January, 50 feet deep, drifting for Catfish with cut Gold eye:roll_eyes::smile2:, it's hanging on the wall at my Frau's insistence.:smile2:

I am trying to get some new info. But there is a rumor around my small little town that it was a hoax by my buddy and a couple friends:angry:.
