I carve wood spirits and green men in found wood, logs , walking sticks, and kiln dried pieces of wood , are there any other members who do this type of carving ??? If there are wood spirit carvers out there post some of your carvings so others can enjoy your work. I `m working on a couple spirits now and they are near completion so I`ll be posting some photos soon.

Dan, those are COOL! What are green men? Much different from the others? I'd heard of and seen wood spirits, but never heard the term "green men" before.

Do you sell any of your carvings? I think of all trees/wood as living (since they are/WERE) and it would be neat to have a "spirit" face! Maybe I could just get one of those animated battery operated ones?

    KNOT!

Green men have the leaves on them and most of the wood spirits are carved with a beard and mustache but I pretty much classify them as being the same, just a different name. As far as selling any carvings goes I`ve never even thought about it to tell you the truth. In some cultures they believe all trees have a spirit in them and the carver brings that spirit out.

Now THAT is cool, Dan. I've never even heard of wood spirits, much less green men.

I love the detail and character you have given them. Very nice indeed.
