Okay, I know it's spring, but the carburetor on my 9.9 Evinrude 4-stroke is clogged and I was told it could be because we fogged it when we winterized it. I was told that it is not a good idea to fog a 4-cycle. Any comments on this?

I fog the pistons by taking out the plugs. Try running some sea foam thru your motor. I winterize my mower which is 4 cycle. Stable in the fuel and fog in the pistons.

Someone else told me to use Seafoam, but you sure don't want to try to remove the bottom plug in an Evinrude 9.9! I sure would like to know what the engineer who designed this thing was smoking or drinking.

I've been using seafoam for years, and it is very good stuff, I even use in my oil from time to time. I would say if you find that bottom plug, and pull it you could be a magician, however you never know what the Chinese are putting out these days. lol

The only way to pull that blankety blank sparkplug is to remove the lower shroud and that ain't easy?:smile2:
