I have no trouble finding shad this time of year on truman lake or lake of the ozarks, but how do you guys find them in the winter or when the water gets cold and they aren't busting on top? Looking for someone to tell me where to look for them, then how to catch them in my cast net. Thanks

Shad go deep in the winter. They like bridge pylings in deep water. I use my fishfinder til I find a school. Sometimes you will have to tie extra rope to your castnet. If that dont work go out about dark thirty and use a floating light or a lantern right above the water . The shad should school around the light. Sometimes this can take awhile. You can use a castnet or an umbrella net to scoop em up.
