What do you think about fishing some paylakes now. I know it's been cool at night and warm during the day but I have a nice pay lake close to the house and thought it would be good to fish some afternoon after work. Seems everyone I talk to that went there during the summer said they only used bait shrimp bought from a local bait house.

As long as the river or lakes are fishable thats where I'll be. Don't care for the practices that they use. To each his own though, Good Luck!

I dont fish them much but do. I thought most of them would have already shut down for winter. but if the one by you is still open go for it. worst thing that can happin is you pay and dont catch anything. but then it cost to drive to the river and bait and lunch too, so cost isnt an issue. I always used chicken breast soked in anise oil most of the time this worked by it self but others I had to tip with a 1/3 or more nightcrawler. that was catching fish at paylakes when no one else was catchin.
