Winter Fishing Tackle - What does everyone use

    what are your favorite rod, reels, hooks,etc for shallow water winter fishing?

    I use the same stuff year round, only difference is I might use a smaller piece of bait in the winter.

    You guys couldnt have said it better.

    Well I guess I do use something a little different. My Qunatum Big Cats & Abu 7000's usually dont see any action. I have only used them in the winter one time & that was this year on 1/1/06 fishing for Blue Cats on the Ohio River. I normally will use something like a Cabelas King Kat or King Kat Pro & Abu 6000 or the like. In other words instead of brining out my Flathead equipment, I use my "Channel" equipment.

    I also use the same thing year round, I see know reason to down size, unless you don't want that monster on the other end of your line.

    Here where I am from, you wont be catching ANY Flats during the winter & we dont have Blues right here, so we basically downsize to our channel stuff.
