I am wondering have the cats stop biteing? I went today, but no cats, I was using cut bream and livers. should I have been fishing the rocks, stumps, or drop offs by the bank?

A lot depends on the weather. If a front has just moved in, I seldom have much luck for a day or two. If its really cold and I go fishing, I'll try to fish deeper water, but I've caught them at all depths summer and winter. Mostly, I believe its like my father always said; "Boy, to catch fish, ya' gotta hold your mouth just right." I'm still working on the right way to hold my mouth. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't.

depend where you fishing, catfish moving into deep during winter, find some deep holes, try fishing in deep area if any catfish biting.. Channel and blue catfish are still biting in cold water. try use live bait as shiner, nightcrawler, and liver too.
