I never really was much of a winter fishing person, but i reckon i'll go this year. My question is, would it be hard to find and catch baitfish in winter or should i stock up my freezer with bait before winter?

Depends on your waters, I guess, but if you can find bait in the summer, you can find bait in the winter. It's a matter of knowing where to look and having the right tools for the job. If the shad are 25 or 35 ft deep, you're not going to catch them with a $20 Wally-World 4 ft radius net.

I'd rather spend 3 hours in the winter catching fresh bait (and I have, several times...) than use last summer's frozen mush.
