The entery double the day of tournament that's unheard of. He would get alot more boats like last year if he dosen't charge a late fee because the guys from Ill. aren't going to drive all that way to pay just an entry fee.

I guess he doesn't like procrastination:smile2:. Drop him a line or give him a call as it does seem a tad much for the late entry. Nick said their would be trailering this year.

Why do bank fisherman only have to pay $20, are they fishing a different tournament?? What % of the entry is being paid back, is there a big fish pot?

I live in Winfield and I can't put the name "Alyissa landing" with a place. I probably know it but not by this name.

Mark, Alyssa's Landing is a private pay ramp just down from the old ferry area… here's directions for any one interested...
take the road toward the dam, stay on it when it turns south before the dam, pass under the grain elevator chutes, then pass a white clubhouse on the left (use to be three there) then take the next drive to the left over the levee, (think there’s a sign)… when over the levee, there’s a house to the left, ramp strait ahead and a parking lot in between

I know where it is just didn't know that's what they call it. I've launched there a time or two. It can be a difficult launch, it's right on the main channel and if the water is swift, getting the boat back on the trailer can be tough. One part of the rules I found a little amusing was the bankfishing and livewell part. How would you like to lug a portable livewell and battery to the bank to keep your fish in? :smile2:

According to the web add, it's..

    GRAND PRIZE: $500.00
    1st :$350.00
    2nd :$200.00
    3rd :$100.00
    Biggest fish: $40.00
    Smallest fish: $20.00

It says "To win grand prize you must catch at least one catfish. " So maybe everybody who catches a catfish gets $500 :smile2: It's probably a drawing of some sort. All extra money after prizes are paid goes to something called "Winfield Ball Assoc."

On the bank vs boat, maybe they figure that you will have several people in the boat... It's odd though, a lone fisherman on the bank has to compete equally against the combined creel of 3-4 people in a boat.

Bottom line, if the "Winfield Ball Assoc." is a worthy cause, it might be a fun thing to do. If you are looking for a real serious tournament with a high percentage payout, it may not fit the bill.

I would have to agree about this one. There is no way I am going to spend $120 for a chance at $350:confused2:
