Will lowering my sensitivity help weed out smaller fish?

Spoonbill season is coming up and I was wondering if I turned down the sensitivity on Lowrance LCX-17M, will that help weed out the smaller fish and strictly pick up the larger fish like spoonbill and catfish?

I am still learning a lot on my fish finder but I just kind of figured it would make sense to lower the sensitivity rating to pick up "meatier" objects.

    Let me know.

    Thanks

Seth, that would/should do it. You can play with the settings to get the best results, including noise reduction settings. You can also download an emulator from the lowrance website and practice right there on your pc.
