why do people copy and post other peoples threads?
I like to do it to save space and time also to avoid making people repeat them selves. For instance, if someone started a thread asking why people copy and post other peoples threads I would do this.http://www.catfish1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116945
I do it to send folks to good threads/posts when they may have missed them otherwise. For instance, I know many folks who only read their own states threads, some that only read the river section of those states. Consider it a very good compliment on your thread and let it go.
ok, thankyou. i was just woundering.
I do it to be an @ss. Kidding!
hey , im goin to try city tonight if you wanna meet up
You whimped out didn't you?
That post was going real good until the last word.
NOW, the reason I do it is because there usually 10 threads just like it.
If I don't link it they'll get lost.
I consider it a compliment to have someone to copy and post any of my threads. It shows me that they have read the thread and they think it has info that is helpful to someone else who might not find the thread. Good thread.
Former staff member talk, and true in this case.
Earlier today, I do believe a staff person was trying to consolidate Mr.Kemper's three (I believe it was three) threads with the same title, but in different forums, into ONE thread......here in general conversation. They ALL showed up for a few minutes - supposedly with different authors.
However, I agree with every point made in this thread concerning why you WOULD "copy and post" someone else's thread.
1) Saves space and time
2) Brings attention to the subject, which it might not've gotten otherwise
3) It's a compliment
Beats me,I ain't figured out HOW to COPY and PASTE,I just push the "quote " button, works for me.
I'm glad somebody has taken the time to paste a link to a good thread. There is a lot of posting here in a days time, easy to miss'em. Don't see a thing wrong with it.
he's not really kidding:wink::smile2:
Yep there is a pretty good chance alot of questions have already been asked and its sometimes easyer to link it than retype it.
223 to copy a link and post it move your curser to what you want to copy then hold the left button down and drag the mouse over it and it will highlite it once you have it all highlighted let go of the left button then move the curser over the highlited area and push the right button on the mouse it will bring up a menu left click copy then whenever you get to were you want to put it right click select paste and it will magicly appear. if you do this to the web address (www.ect) others will be able to click on it and go to it. clear as mud.
