I called everyone I knew yesterday to go fishing last night but no one could go. I don't mind fishing alone but at night I like to have someone around. The bite was slow today but when we had one they were big ones. We had serveral line strippers on but only were able to land two. A 50 & 57. Using brim, live and cut. Thank god we had a top on the boat or I would have been fried.

This was caught in the Dutch Gap area in 50 foot of water around 2 PM..

    Very nice catch!

What river do you fish in VA? Forgive my ignorance, but I know little above VA, except that big blues are in the James.

Funny you mention the daytime bite. The past two mornings have been so-so locally, so I put the bimini on the boat yesterday for some mid-day fishing this week in case the morning bite stays bad.

Sorry....it was the James river. I felt sorry for people fishing today without a place in the shade.
