Of all time??? Man this comedy stuff is really something I am a big fan of. If I had the cajones, Id try it meself one day. Maybe my day will come.

I'd have to go with a more timeless list for mine. If you read their name and laugh out loud, thats a pretty dang good indicator of their value to the world of laughter. This isnt a full list, but its got a lot that arte not mentioned.

Larry, Moe, and Curly and Shemp too- No question... the masters of slapstick.
Sid Caesar- best improv, no question
Ed Winn- Anything he touched was hilarious.
    Red Skelton- best quipper
    Mel Brooks- Great comedic director/writer
    Bob Hope- best MC
    Groucho Marx- Brilliant turnarounds
    Burns and Allen- Best interplay
Flip Wilson- great under horrible pressures of his day
    Danny Kaye- Physical comedy
Jerry Lewis- The original Jim carrey or Chris Kattan
    Robin Williams- Best thinker
    Bill Crystal- Everyone's silly cousin
    Steven Wright- Best Rhetoric
    Sam Kinison- Best adult comedian
Alan King- Best writer of stage comedy
    Billy Connelly- UK's greatest contribution
    John Candy- physical comedy, chubby-funny
Richard Pryor- no more needs to be said
and the Monty Python Cast- way before their time.

Current hotlist, but not classics. These guys have the potential:
Mitch Hedberg- Just died too dang young.
Larry the Cable Guy- best southern comedy
    Carlos Mencia- newer sam kinison
    John Stewart- political comedy
    Jay Leno- fantastic writer.
    Larry Miller- cerebral comedy
Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean)- Hilarious pantomime
    Martin Short- Fantastic improv/acting
Steve Martin- Masters the difinitive American style of comedy

among today's crop, Lewis Black. Lifetime favorite and the greatest influence on my own sense of humor has to go to Bob Hope. What timing, what physicality, what a blow hard coward. Oops, a little close to home.

Have to say that the old timers, Red Skelton, 3 Stooges, Jerry Lewis and the old comedians of the 30's,40's,50's. To me they were funny they didn't have to curse and tell terrible dirty jokes to get a laugh, most of todays comedians are want to be's. Most of the greatest comedians of the past are gone, and it will be a long time before were able to match there stardum.
