With the cold weather approaching, I was wondering who fishes in the winter? What do you fish for? Any special techniques?

I also do a lot of salt water fishing for Strippers and Perch during the winter months & I will do my shear of Trout fishing at the local lakes from time to time.

    Well Rob
I love to fish all Yr around but I find that the winter time is best time for big blues the colder the better, its don’t mater. The trick is keeping your feet and hands worm I use a big cat heater just for that so set back and waits for the poles to bend.

i am thinking there won't be much of a difference in the catfish bite in the southeastern part of the state (california), reason being . . . winter down here is not all that cold. am i right? hell, who knows.

With the winter cold temps, the bait situation kind of drys up... shad die off, the gill tend to be sluggish..... have to go to the sink baits... but all in all, the fishing metabolism tends to slow down too..... might have to hit more spots to find where the fish are holding...
