Anybody out there catch any big channels lately. Because All that I've got are a bunch of eaters.
I've been getting skunked the last few times out. Last night I broke my zero streak and caught an 18" eater, but only that one bite all evening.
Guys i havent seen a big channel more or less a eating size channel lately.Last couple of times i have been out i havent got anything. Its been real hot around here and i know thats playing a role on the fishing.I cant wait till it cools down around here.
fishing here has just been terrible. the only thing i can get to bit latley is bluegill, lol.
Biggest one ive caught all summer was 3 - 4 pounds but then again the lake record is only like 5 pounds :\
At the local lakes here in Orange COunty Cali, thats all im really catching-
Me n the lil bro usually head out a couple times a week for a 5-11pm session. (id love to stay later but they close at 11)
Friday we managed 7
Sunday we managed 11
Biggest one was a 4#er
Actually the one in my profile....
Down here in cali, at least in the hole i found, they LOVE cut FRESH MACK- flylined. Havent had any luck with the carolina rig lately. They just hit it once and leave it alone.
I haven't caught anything since early May.
hate to brag but i have caught about 7 channels this summer in the 10# range and numerous flats from 5 -25#s
here in arkansas ive been getting a few good ones about everytime i go...i got a 27" around 10to12lbs (about two weeks ago) and i got some around 25" since then....my wife and three daughters have catfish feaver as bad as i do...we have been using fresh and cured liver...my wife broke her 50lb test line twice and most certenly would have beat my record 27"er....its a large shallow lake about 4feet in any given spot....weve only got channels and no blues so far....god bless you all....peace
i'd be happy just findin some eaters! lol
5.5 pound is the biggest so far, weve been bringing home at least one eater a trip so i cant complain.... too much.
I thought maybe it was me but after reading this I see i'm not the only one getting skunked. Wait it out it will change.
I hear ya Steve. I thought it was just me. This year has been terrible. No water+ no current=no fish. We had some rain this week and I'm hoping it turns them on a little more. The only places I have been having any luck is on the channel edges. Ya'll might wanna try that.
Yeah I'v just been catching some small ones but we ethier catch a lot or none at all. the las time we went didint catch a thing, but Brian cursed us by not wearing his luck hat. Thanks brian. LOL. We are gonna try agian this weekend, hopfully we have some luck.
P.S. congrats on winning the Magic Bait contest Brian.
yea, its been hit or miss here in ny.i cant complain though,. brought home some good size cats.caught a 2 1'/2 footer + like 3 weeks ago. as of latley there hasnt been much action. im going tonight and seeing if anything has changed.
Its been pretty steady up these parts. Just this past Friday landed 3. Biggest one was 20 " smallest was a 8". Saturday didnt catch anything but my fishing buddy snagged 3. Two 14-16" one was tiny. Cant complain although was unhappy that Saturday I came out completely dry.
Hey, I like the new website We haven't been catching anything since july 4th , but hit the jackpot last weekend (at least for us, since we fish off of a dock and have no boat) a 5lb,21# one, two other eaters.
We had to start getting up at 4am and using a new bobber that has a light in it, and rattles boy it was so nice to remember how to set a hook and actually catch something besides turles....so i guess here in florida even up until 11pm it's just too hot, of course lighting runs us off a lot at night as well as killer big mosquitos.
I have been only catching eaters, biggest was a 8 lb'er.
Hey guys, Indiana has been terrible for the last two months. We have caught some channels, but very few and far between. Good Luck Brothers and I hope you guys have better luck than us!!
