Thanks for all the kind words from everyone over the past week! Its been a heck of a ride and I'm glad I gotta share it with you guys!

Now I need to get back on work schedule, it starts tomorrow....come on Friday night im ready :cool1:

After I caught that fish I locked all my reels down haha

I started thinking, maybe I have missed more fish over the years then I should have because I use runners and clickers.

I use kahle hooks and the ones I get are offset. My thought is if the line is tight when they hit that will help the hook to begin penatrating the fishes mouth because of the tension. Kind of like a trot line how it works its a tight line(i think) Almost like a circle hook too. As I was pulling up on my rod I had cranked down alittle too. I have heard of guys using kahles like circles.

Its making me rethink how I have been fishing. More experimenting is required. Maybe I need to take another week off!:coffee::laugh:

It's tough getting a good picture of a fish at night but it's always nice when you can't hardly get all of the fish in the picture.
Jon you might have to start using a phablet to get all the fish in the picture. :wink1:

Welp guys just got back in from the river. It was a wet and cold one. Found out my water proof raingear is indeed not water proof.

Like usual I was presenting some big live gills. One shallow, one out in the channel. Nothing was going on where I was at.

I was messing around with a rig I made up, its basically a 3 way type rig, anyways the first time I check my bait I snag up and lose my lead. Then I pull up the rig and its tangle city. Snip. Back to the basics. Slip rig, no leader. Dont fix it if its not broken.

I did have my reels locked down again.

When it wasn't raining the mosquitoes were out in full force, trying to eat my face off.

It was still nice to be out, even though it was wet and cold. I love the river.

    It's kinda weird,
If someone said you had to spend all night out in the rain in a leaky raincoat being eaten alive my mozzies, you would say "Are you nuts?"
But.... add a couple of fishing rods and bait and suddenly it's "Heck yes!"
