:tounge_out: I finally caught my first 20 lb. flathead. It was an awesome fight! Took 15 minutes to reel him in. I caught the big one downtown Indy at White River right outside the Naval Armory. My bait was a hand size blue gill.

    John,
Nice job. There is some good fishing in the White in Indy and plenty of flatheads. I'm sure you have more in your future...W

Me and my fishing buddies are headed out saturday night . I heard of a 27lb,and also a 55lb flathead being caught in the same area. The 55 was caught on a 2lb crappie. I have never heard of that. I just like using those Bluegill!!

By far my most productive bait on the White River is live pumpkinseed sunfish, they are really hardy and stay alive a long time on the hook.

Have had real good luck with good size live goldfish (when you can find them!). They are really hardy and keep kicking for a long time!

I have never fished the White River. Nice catfish. Keep the lines tight.
