I purposely take a real small rod to catch em while fishin in the river. Excellant cut bait and the good part is the river is filthy with em.

Don't know about cut, but I've heard they are a top livebait for flatheads on the Santee/Cooper Lakes.

I've used live and cut white perch with good success... I use the smaller ones live (3-5 inches) and the larger ones i fillet and use as cutbait. Largest i think was a 6 lb channel but thats good size for that river...

The only flathead I've ever caught was on a whole white perch.

Boog and I fished with ChrisBlue this weekend using cut white perch. Top 5 fish went 17#, 19#, 26#, 27#, and 36#. I'll keep using perch when i can catch it!

I take it you guys are talking about drum, if that is the case, they aren't good for anything else but turtle bait. I have never used them whole, but they work great as cut bait.
