Spinning or Casting style rod?
Casting, Id look at a Eagle Claw Snagging Stick.
got to match the rod to the reel..... your level line reel is a "casting" and thats the one you need to get..... Spinning ..Pole... is for a spinning reel...
Got mine on a 8' Berkley Glow stick (Casting)
american spirit nite stick..
Ok, just making sure, wasn't sure due to the reel having a rod clamp instead of the slide in and tighten style type of thing
I'll be getting a 10' Berkley Glowstik:wink:
Hey there Ric, good to hear from you. Welcome to the BOC. You're gonna need to go wit a casting rod for that reel. Good luck and have fun fishin...straight lines :cool2:
Thanks all once again, going with a 9 foot stick instead:wink:
That's a great reel. It will last for years. Good choice. Tight lines.
Thanks boss
That is how I would do it . I have seen some funny set ups though ... Like a 404 black taped to a fly rod and used for catfishing with a bobber . lol
Trigger or no trigger?
Does it matter?
get ya a penn power stick mh or h action you wont be dissappointed
Too short, I want at least 9'
It doesn't matter to the fish,, but, for myself, on casting rigs,, I like a trigger for some reason,, on spinning rigs,, the reel itself seems to act as a trigger.. but, the seat on the rod does not have a trigger,, on the spinners..
It's probably kinda personal preference..
Reason I ask is because I saw a casting rod that had no trigger, which I found rather strange and led me to ask
I have casting rods from 7 fet up to 12 feet, none of them have a trigger, I dont think I have ever used a casting rod with a trigger.
I keep looking at the reel and all I have to do is click "Buy", but then I start thinking about it and I don't click buy.
I need help
Heck, If ya need it,, get it.. especially if you want it..
It probably won't be your last...
