I wonder what are you using hook and size for blue?? I use octopus 6/0.
I use 10/0 circle, but I have been missing a lot of fish lately thinkin of going back to j hooks don't know yet.
I use 7/0 to 10/0 kahle depending on the size of bait
depends on the time of year, and method. For drifting, I'll use 8/0 circles and for river fishing I'll use those too. For regular fishing in the lake during the spring/summer I'll usually use 4/0 kahles.
i've been using 6/0 or 7/0 octopus hooks. goin away from circles, i might try them again in summer but for the winter bite they dont do so well.
Well I use Kahle hooks only now from 4/0 up to 10/0 bait and time of year will differ in what hook size I use.
I have used circle hooks and seem to miss and of fish or have them come off right over the hook up. I can say that the kahle hooks so far has worked better then any only hook I have used.
Eagle Claw 10/0 Kahle
for me i use 8/0 octopus circles. They work great for me tight lining, If you like the clicker method I use a 7/0 kahle. I like the tight lining more and more. But I do still love to hear that clicker going off. Seem to have a better bite to catch ratio tight lining with the gamakatsu 8/0 octopus circles. Hope this helps
I will agree with this post. I use kahle because I like to set the hook hard. The size of the bait equals the size of the hook.:confident: :0a27: :0a18:
i use 9/0 or 10/0 king kahles they seem to work good for me
i usually fish with small circles n octupus i beleive they r 4/0 5/0
I use Bass Pro Shop hooks. There what I can afford right now. I usually fish the rockiest, nastiest most snag-infested cover I can find in a spot so, I lose LOTS of hooks. My tacle bag is in the garage right now, but I think they're 10/0, twisted shank, J-style hooks.
I just started using Eagle Claw 10/0 king kahle hooks last year.
i use 5/o and 6/0 circle hooks
kahle hooks size 7 most of the time
kahles ... 6/0 and up
i use circle hooks and kahle hooks. depending on bait size and location. if i am fishing just below the dam i use circles. most every where else i use 6/0 to 10/0 kahle. i also use a smaller hook early in the year.
i normally use 4/0 circles all the way to 7/0 circles and j's depends on bait location, ect.
I have used all of them at times but prefer 8/0 mustad kahle.
For blues, I've got anywhere from 2/0 EC's to 8/0 Gamas and 10/0 EC's... I try to use circles as much as possible... but when the fish aren't being aggressive, i've gotta switch to J's cause i haven't picked up any Kahles in larger sizes.
