bass pro shops excel braid, or power pro, i am going to get it in 20 lb
I am a Power Pro guy. I use it for everything. I like to use a shock leader tied to my Power Pro with a uni-uni knot. I usually use mono unless the fish I am after are line shy then I use Flourocarbon. I keep my shock leaders fairly long (10' or better).
No braid here,I personally think mono is good enough. Besides it's a bunch cheaper. I'd have to respool a bunch with mono ,just to use the same amount dollar wise. I guess I'm cheap,But I really dont see the sense in it.
on my bass poles i use 30# power-pro, i fish alot of cover, lilly pads, thick weeds, seems ta hold up good, on my catty poles i use 80# power-pro with a 40# big cat mono for a leader the mono holds up against abrasion better
I don't think you can really use one line (braid, mono, etc) for both Bass and Cats. The type of fishing each demand just calls for separate kind of line, at least that' my opinion.
bass fishing? what's that?
I thought it was catching bait.... :smile2:
I like power pro better.
Bass fishing is intentionally trying to catch bait for sport. :smile2:
I use spiderwire myself but to each his own:wink:
I use power pro 20 lb for bass and 50 lb for cats it has stood up to everything. It is truely great stuff
I feel that braid is a plus in bass fishing when fishing a carolina rig and when fishing frogs in heavy matted cover. I prefer the mono for all other fishing. Power Pro is good braid.
