I fish exclusively for flatheads from May until around now. I'm out on the river at least 4 to 5 times a week and know where to find them in during the spring and summer.

Fall is when I have trouble finding them.

Can you guys give me some suggestion on where to find these fall flatheads?

    Deep pools? Down river? where?

    Help please!

    Deep holes. Downriver.

Seriously, they tend to move downriver to deeper holes. For me, in the small to medium river I usually fish, that means they go to holes with at least 20 to 25 feet of water. If you are fishing a river that already has more depth, they might end up deeper, but look for holes with good depth and some structure for current breaks.

It has alot to do with where you fish! I live in the south and in the fall is the second best time of year. The fish really feed up before winter and I love to fish in the fall! Bait is easy to get and keep alive! Now as it really cools off they head for deep holes where they will spend the winter but till the water hit the low 60's I still catch them. 12' to 25' seams to be the best depth for me and the heavier the log jams the better. Good luck
