    Howdy all,

Been away for a little while do to the passing of my mom. My son and I could really use some fishing to get our minds off of all that has been going on. I live on the neuse river in Clayton and was wondering if with the cold weather I should be looking for deep holes or will the cats still be coming into the shallows to feed? I fish from the shore as I don't have a boat. I am willing to go to Smithfield or Goldsboro if anyone knows of any good spots to shore fish. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Mike

The farthest upriver I have been to fish was smithfield and that was in a boat. There is some pretty good fishing up that way but not sure about this time of year. I have the best luck in the cold weather in the holes. But I couldnt tell you any bank spots up that way. Hopefully someone will answer your question.
