I am going to the James for the first time on Friday, July 7. I am planning on putting in around Hopewell. Anyone have any advice on where to fish around there?

    Thanks

Just about anywhere down there is good but if you have electronics, look for dropoffs, submerged structure, creek channels, and deep holes surrounded by flats. Also around pileings at docks and marina's are usually good places to start. You might want to PM someone like "Nightfisher" and get the current lowdown. Good luck, Brother!

    Carl,

Good Luck fishing. It is a big river down there. Be aware of floating logs and debris from the flood. Take plenty of lead to hold bottom. I dont get down that way much so Im not much use on any spots.
