I KNOW FUEL IS HIGH, But it's not going to stop me from getting out and doing the things I like to do because of it, Hell I am paying five dollars a gallon for diesel, Dam, who would have thunk it? But I am still going get out and fish . I will just have to cut back on eating out and not going to town quite as often. I went out to Aqueduct Thursday and caught two nice six pound channel cat, they looked like sisters, so I know I will eat. Anyway I was just setting hear this morning wondering where all my fishing buddies have gone. This California Fishing site looks like it's dead. Let's hear from you guys.

Well Phil, Although I haven't been getting out Due to saving my free cash for the Blythe gathering and next months trip to Mexico, I have been making little posts here and there.
I'm online most every day and try to boost participation from other CA members but I just don't have that much to talk about.

    Hey Phil,

I'm planing on flying down to Burbank to hook-up with Tom on Tuesday morning & then we are driving over to the Gathering in Blythe.

Some people may think that the cost of flying down to go fishing in Blythe (Gathering) or even taking the Train down to Mendota 5 (Gathering), when I have all off the fishing water (Ca. Delta, Clear Lake, ect...) here in northern Ca., but I'm on a mission this year, and some people may remember in a post I made in the beginning of the year, I had 4 areas that I wanted to fish this year:

    1. Mendota 5 Gathering - "Did it"
    2. Clear Lake Catfish Tournament (in May of this year) - "Miss it" :sad2:
    3. Blythe Gathering - "Will be there"
    4. Ca. Delta - "for at lease 5 Days straight" - "Working on it" :0a14:

People fly or take the Train to go to various places to have fun all of the time, weather it's to go fishing, going to a Hotel Casino, or just to visit other family members.

But all n' all, your are having a good time when you are doing so - and you are "Bless" to do it so - "Just Do It"!

Believe me, -you will be glad you did so,
But at the same time - you will never forgive yourself if you could have & didn't.
    :embarassed:
    (Think about it:0a14:)

So you guys Take Care & Enjoy your day,
    Bert:cool2: & Shania:0010:

Lots of people are staying closer to home this summer. Cost of gas is preventing me from doing those 'spur of the moment' trips. I have 3 more trips planned for Clear Lake this summer (July 5-6, July 12-13, and August 1-2). Other than that I have a Lake Berryessa kokanee derby June 14th that I'll be fishing in. Not sure if I'll get out much other than those dates. A two day clear lake trip for me runs about $300 after gas, bait, ice, drink, food, propane, etc. I'll post up the bounty (or lack of) after the trips.

Sounds perfectly normal to me... Spending your time and money to get to do what you want to do... what would it be for? lol. I hope you do well down here in Blythe, I'll be around.

Well I haven't exactly been fishing but i have been swimming with the fishs  today as I was dredging I had a family of bluegill eating something off my dredge tailings, I did see some sort of creature, ugly looking larval things dancing around and i think that is what they were after., and all the environmental whackos say we do so much damage to the environment HAH last year I had a pair of bluegills actually nesting and mating on my tailing pile.

Anyhow I need to get some fishing in I saw that crappie that linz caught and its been on my mind I think pretty soon I will be making a trip up to McClure to do some hard rock mining and while there I may as well setup the tent trailer and stay a night and do some night fishing for crappie and cats.

GAS Oh man I spend no less then $100 a week I have had weeks I spent $300 easily and that was when it was 50 cents cheaper. I make sure any weekend I dont have work I am out doing something i just can't sit around all weekend anymore.

RAy whats up with the stomach ? hernia ? hope nothing serious is wrong.

    Vince,
That is a nice looking bunch of nuggets. It's not going to be long until gas is going to be worth more then your gold, If the price keeps going up.

    Hello Bulldogboogers,
My name is Derek and I live in Fresno, CA. I have read about Corona Lakes and was thinking about taking the family there for a weekend camping trip. If you can post how you do there, it would be great maybe we can start a corona lake thread. ? are there a lot of people there on the weekend? Do they have showers and bathrooms?. Any Info would help, Thanks
