I know right now and through out the summer the bass have been hanging out in the deeper water in structure, and on drop offs and main pionts, but were do they go when it starts to cool off? It would make sense to me that they come up a little shallower. What is their main food source in the early fall? Where should i fish for them and what with?

The bass will be less reliant on cover, and they will be following the schools of shad which usually relate to some sort of structure, a search bait like a crankbait or spinnerbait would be a good choice since the bass will not be as drawn to cover, and you might end up catching a lot of bass if you run into a school of them.
