does anybody know where cats go when they spawn, I have noticed that a lot of people are having trouble finding any fish, I have had ok luck.
where do catfish go when they spawn?

From what I have noticed here is channels are in the rocks...Now all I know about flatheads are they are cavity spawners in logs ,holes in banks etc....The female channels were ready to pop last week ...Flats don't spawn till later I think ...I don't target them .

They haven't been too wild about my hook lately either. My question is, how long is this "Spawning Thing" gonna go on for? Are we looking at days, weeks or months? I still go out every weekend that I can, whether the fish bite or not (I enjoy the relaxation), but it's still a lot better when you're catching something.

I mostly target blues, I figure they probably are cavity spawners as well, probably close to the bank, but not sure, we have still been catching a few, but not nearly as much, I will take any input I can get, thanks.

they will be on the nest for about another 2-3 weeks. the most consistent way I know to catch catfish on the spawn is to go noodling. It is legal in ky.
