I'm not looking for anybody's secret spot, don't tell what river or lake or by what town, just the type of spot.

    1. River? Lake?
    2. special features (feeder creek, spillway, etc)
    3. What type of cover (single log, logjam, rock, etc)
    4. Time of year
    5. Depth
    6. In current, on current break, or out of current (for rivers)

Just curious to see if we can find a pattern, or open our eyes to some new areas.

    Here is mine

    1. River
    2. None
    3. Big logjam
    4. Last Wednesday
    5. 9ft
    6. Behind current break

I have not caught a flathead on rod that is worth bragging about, The only big flathead that I caught was on a limb line years ago.

Fish of a lifetime on the Mo river where the gasconade dumps in. Fishen the end of a trail dikes Aug 2 2006. We was fishen for eater blues with light gear for funn. When a rod doubled over and dragg went to screamen.I picked the rod up and handed it to my buddys boy and he would gain and lose this went on for 20 min he got tired and gave me the rod back. I thinken it was a big softshell turtle just went to haulen and reelen another 15 min later I seen a tail 4 ft fom the line and my heart almost stopped. We got him in the net and on land and just stared in amazment for 2 min. We had just brought up a monster 65lb flat on 10lb line, a junk rod, lightwire hook, and a zebco 33 on a lil chunk of cut skipjack. I found fishen the end of traildikes and the outer side of slotdikes behind em is a hell of a pattern after the spawn on the MO river for flats.
