When to start

    hello all. i live in nebraska and fish a canal and river and this year i am going to hit lake maloney and the resevuor in sutherland. i was wondering when should i start going fishing to really catch the prespawn. what water temp is ideal for the channel cats mainly. i want to start after winter so any help would be great. any great local places would be great to know too. thanks and good luck

    art I can tell you that flathead pre spawn occurs when water temps reach about 54 degrees. I believe you can catch channels a little sooner than that.
