my hands is the easiest way to catch em as long as i can see their head, other than that we go and pitchfork em in creeks and ponds

i'd rather catch them by hand, that way when i catch them, it's intentional!

My method is simple. I target cats and turtles
at the same time. I use cut bait, bluegills,
chicken liver, cut shad and shrimp. If the cats
don't bite then the same bait will tempt the
turtles. I seldomly get totally skunked.
Several times if it had'nt been for scoring a
large turtle or two I would have gone home
empty. And I like the fact that many fisherman
that I've talked to don't fish for turtles.
That means that they're there waiting for me
to get them myself and I love that!

i set jug lines. milke jug with speaker wire on handle. mason twine on there too for pulling them in. treble and liver work well.
